The Miners’ Trail

Set off on an immersive underground adventure in the heart of a real mine. Explore over 1 km of previously unexplored tunnels in a raw, unspoilt area, lit only by headlamps. A unique experience that immerses you in the world of miners, culminating in a visit to the Mining Museum, which is included in the tour.

The experience:
This adventure begins with an immersion into the mine’s tunnels, dug by the miners. Equipped with a helmet and a headlamp, you’ll make your way through a raw environment, where darkness is an integral part of the experience.
Along the route, you’ll discover various passages, some narrow or low-ceilinged, which enhance the authentic feel of the tour. This exploration gradually leads you to the heart of the mine, where it connects with the Mining Museum.
The tour then continues at your own pace through the museum, allowing you to round off the experience with a cultural exploration of the site.

Practical information:
•    Duration: approximately 2½ hours (including around 2 hours underground) – Please arrive 15 to 30 minutes early
•    Equipment provided: helmet and head torch
•    What to bring: closed-toe shoes, warm clothing (10–12°C in the mine), clothes that can get dirty
•    Access requirements: minimum age 12, good physical condition required
•    Not recommended for: pregnant women, people with claustrophobia
•    Accessibility: not accessible to people with reduced mobility, pushchairs or baby carriers
